Where the Negroni and Manhattan meet. The Boulevardier first appeared in Harry’s MacElhone's 1927, Barflies and Cocktails. It was the signature drink of Erskine Gwynne, expatriate writer, socialite and nephew of railroad tycoon Alfred Vanderbilt. Gwynne edited a monthly magazine, a sort of Parisian New Yorker, named The Boulevardier.

Tasting notes

Half Manhattan, half Negroni. The Boulevardier switches out gin for the darker robust tones of American whiskey. Toasty oak and notes of vanilla spice pair with bright bitter orange, rhubarb with a soft herbal finish

Serving suggestion

For best results, place in the freezer 15 minutes before serving. Serve in a frozen cocktail glass and garnish with a cherry.

Ingredients

Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Hotel Starlino Sweet Vermouth, Campari and filtered water. Refrigerate after opening.
