Named after the Irish county of the same name, the Tipperary is perhaps less mainstream than some of its fellow classic cocktails. It has though been around for quite some time. It first appeared in the 1916 printing of “Recipes for Mixed Drinks” by Hugo R. Ensslin and called for equal parts Irish Whiskey, Chartreuse (no colour specified) and Italian vermouth. In cocktail pioneer, Harry MacElhone’s 1922 book ”ABC of Mixing Cocktails,” the Tipperary recipe appears as two ounces of Irish whiskey, one-half ounce of green Chartreuse and one ounce of sweet vermouth. Our version is heavy on a single malt Irish Whiskey, with our favourite Hotel Starlino Rosso Vermouth and just a pinch of the robust Green Chartreuse keeping everything in perfect balance.
Each bottle contains six perfect serves. Quality ingredients manufactured to the most exacting standards.
Tasting notes
Rich Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey with notes of honeyed fudge and peppery clove biscuit. Combined seamlessly with the soft rhubarb, grape and ginger of Rosso vermouth, followed by the lingering herbal intensity of green chartreuse.
