The third volume of our Signature Series is the Right Hand, by Michael McIlroy.
Created at New York’s Milk & Honey in 2008, the Right Hand is a riff on the classic Manhattan cocktail, made with Bacardi Ocho, Martini Rosso Vermouth, Martini Bitter and chocolate bitters.
The Right Hand was created by McIlroy as a variation on the Left Hand cocktail, created by his friend,and business partner, Sam Ross. McIlroy describes the Right Hand cocktail as ‘like the Boulevardier, but richer’. Using aged rum as its base spirit, it’s a simple and delicious take on a classic. And as for the name? Well, the Left Hand was taken.
